In the heart of the olive groves and facing the ancient town of Massa Marittima, the farm-holiday cottage restaurant gives you the opportunity to live in a typically Tuscan environment relishing traditional dishes.

In the wonderful backdrop of the two rooms finely restructured with open-faced stone, or in the candlelight on the fresco of the colonnade with a panoramic view, our chef will prepare typical dishes of the Maremman cuisine for your culinary delight.

Ours is simple, homely food by tradition, but rich in unique aromas and flavours, handed down and unchanged over the generations. Indulge yourself in these natural flavours, made possible by the authenticity of the local ingredients, gathered in the farm cottage fields or carefully selected in the neighbouring farmland, where animals are still raised with care and passion.

OUR CHEF

We are proud to introduce you to our new chef at Tenuta Il Cicalino!

His expertise is sure to win you over. Moreover, his ability to combine haute cuisine with traditional local dishes, prepared using genuine ingredients and products, will leave you with a lasting memory of flavour and aroma!

Chef Riccardo Zanni

The son of a chef, Riccardo Zanni started working very early on in his family’s restaurants, where he trained as a chef, eagerly learning all the secrets to the trade.

His inquisitiveness and passion led him to travel and get an all-round cooking education, learning many different and innovative techniques and bringing home with him a wealth of experience that contributed to form his own personal idea of cooking. Between trips, he would manage the family restaurants while completing various internships, including one at the “Vissani” restaurant in Baschi (Orvieto).

He teaches at Cordon Bleu, Florence; Coquis-Ateneo della Cucina Italiana, Rome; and Gambero Rosso, Rome.
